Prof. Justin Green Participates in PR Roman Forum on Green Communication and Sustainable Heritage

Prof. Justin Green, President & CEO of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, took part in the PR Roman Forum – Green Communications, Green Responsibility, ESG, Sustainable Heritage, held on 27–28 January in Rome, Italy.

The PR Roman Forum is one of the leading international events dedicated to sustainable, responsible, and ethical communication. Organized by the World Innovation and Change Management Institute (WICMI), the Forum brought together institutional leaders, communication professionals, academics, and representatives of major international industry associations to promote a culture of communication grounded in sustainability, social responsibility, and ESG principles.

Prof. Green participated as a speaker in the roundtable “Green Communication, Green Responsibility”, alongside senior representatives from global communication organizations. The discussion focused on the responsibility of the communication profession to educate, inform, and inspire public awareness in the context of global environmental and social challenges.

The Forum explored two key thematic areas — Green Communication and Green Responsibility and Sustainable Heritage — emphasizing the role of communication in advancing sustainable development while acknowledging the historical and cultural foundations of sustainability. Hosting the event in Rome highlighted how centuries-old civilizations laid early foundations for sustainable coexistence, offering valuable lessons for today’s global communication practices.

A key outcome of the Forum was the official signing of the Roman Declaration of Green Communication Responsibility. The declaration defines shared principles and guidelines for communication oriented toward sustainability, social responsibility, and ESG criteria, and was jointly endorsed by representatives of leading international communication organizations attending the event.

The PR Roman Forum 2026 convened representatives from organizations including Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, FERPI – Italian Federation of Public Relations, PRCA (Public Relations and Communications Association), IPRA (International Public Relations Association), EACD (European Association of Communication Directors), and FIJET (Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Écrivains du Tourisme).

Through Prof. Green’s participation, the Global Alliance reaffirmed its commitment to advancing ethical, responsible, and sustainability-driven communication worldwide, and to fostering collaboration across borders to address the most pressing challenges facing society and the profession.
